Our proposed advisory & consulting assignment for the client encompasses a comprehensive approach to EPD which are backed up by respective product’s LCAs.
The key components of our scope of work include
1. Identify the Product Category Rule (PCR)
The Service Provider will work with the team members of each site of the client to find the PCR that is most relevant to their products of Duct Iron Pipes.
2. Data Collection
The Service Provider will work with the team members of each site of the clients to ensure that the EPD will represent their range of products through an efficient and cost effective scope. This Service Provider would provide the necessary formats and templates to simplify the process of data collection. The Service Provider would send these formats or templates as a Data Request Form to gather necessary supplier and manufacturing data. The Service Provider would provide guidance throughout this process.
3. Team Formation & Training to Team on LCA & EPD
We recognize the importance of equipping the client’s team with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively navigate the LCA & EPD processes. As part of our engagement, we will provide tailored training sessions on the concept of LCA (Cradle to Gate) and EPD, its implications for the Iron and Steel industry, and strategies for compliance and optimization.
4. Perform Life Cycle Assessment
The Service Provider would build the LCA model(s) using LCA modeling software, data collected, and supplemental Ecoinvent datasets. The resulting LCA Report would be critically reviewed for conformance to ISO 14044 following ISO 14071.
5. Assistance during preparation of EPD
The Service Provider team would prepare an EPD compliant with the PCR, incorporating the results of the LCA and any other information required in a market-ready format. The client’s feedback on the EPD would be take and included in the EPD preparation.
6. Assistance during verification of EPD
Consistent with the requirements of ISO 14025, the EPD will be reviewed and verified by a third-party team. The team of Service Provider would remain present with the client during this assessment process and provide assistance.
7. Assistance during publishing EPD
Once the EPD is completed and verified, the service provider team will facilite the team members of the client to seamlessly get it registered.
